{"id":873,"date":"2016-06-17T10:30:19","date_gmt":"2016-06-17T00:30:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/arrowarafura.com\/?p=873"},"modified":"2018-09-22T22:21:46","modified_gmt":"2018-09-22T12:21:46","slug":"results-nsw-state-championships-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arrowarafura.com\/?p=873","title":{"rendered":"Results NSW State Titles 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to Frank O&#8217;Rourke 2016 State Champion at Great Lakes Sailing Club Forster NSW.<br \/>\n<strong>REPORT<\/strong><br \/>\nThe 2015-2016 NSW State Titles were held in conjunction with the Booti Booti Cup at<br \/>\nWallis Lake near Forster on the weekend 13\/14 February.<br \/>\nA fleet of 10 turned up which was slightly disappointing but still a good fleet. Four races<br \/>\nwere held over the two days.<br \/>\nSaturday was about 10-15 knots, good trapezing weather. Sunday was a bit lighter with<br \/>\nmostly sitting on the side.<br \/>\nFrank O\u2019Rourke continues his good form from the Nationals with 4 wins.<br \/>\nRohan Nosworthy improved from the nationals and was pressing closely all weekend and<br \/>\nscored 3 seconds and one third. A new set of black sails looked fast and his speed was<br \/>\nequal to Frank\u2019s but a lack of a good rudder pop up system cost him time.<br \/>\nYes, weed was a factor.<br \/>\nGary Powell sailed well as always and scored one second and three thirds. Tony Rose<br \/>\ncontinues to improve and two of his fourths were by only one second behind third.<br \/>\nTony Kuhn improved over the weekend and probably suffered from lack of sailing. Arie<br \/>\nalso needs more sailing but at times showed really good speed. Scott Witchard, Nick<br \/>\nPowell and Graeme Smith all sailed well and completed all races. New to Arrows was<br \/>\nNS14 guru Peter Vaiciurgis who showed great speed early but lacked catamaran<br \/>\nexperience and has some problems.
