NSW State Championships 2015 Results

NSW Titles held at Forster on the weekend with an excellent fleet of 14 boats.

Weather was good with 3 back to back short races on Saturday in a building 10-13 kt sea breeze.

Frank won the first with a good start and Will a fast finishing 2nd.
In the second race Will took off and was finishing with the F18s and Taipans.
In the the third race a swinging breeze enabled some at the back to get to the front and Frank took advantage  to win from Rohan Nosworthy in his first regatta in an Arrow. Tony Rose lost one bow on the way in to shore in a bingle with Max Rose in the Arafura. Fortunately Max was on starboard.
Sunday saw the breeze up to 20-22kts. Will unfortunately broke his centreboard before the start but still managed two 6ths. Jack Corthals sailed extremely well and would probably have had at least one win if the course was longer. Tony Kuhn and the ever reliable Gary Powell also were fast. All boats were carrying square head sails.
Others to sail well were Nick Powell who had a great result in 8th, Angus Davidson in a 36 year old boat in 7th, as well as Scott Witchard with a 5th in one heat, Graeme Smith from Speers Point Arie Van Spronssen from Toukley, Dave Winter from Port Macquarie and Matt Pope who was the second Grafton boat.
Congratulations to all for turning up in such numbers and all being so competitive.
